The VC is located at the distance of some 7 Kilometers to the South-East from Saidu Sharif (District Head quarter) and is considered to be the centre of Marghazar valley. The area is surrounded by high mountains from all sides. It is bounded by Islampur village in North, Sheratraf valley in the East, Ghaligay Village to the South and UC Qambar in the West. It is located between latitude 34°37΄-34°43΄N and longitude 72°19΄ -72°26΄ E (Sultan, 2006). The area is surrounded by mountains from all side with beautiful valleys and hamlets. Chitawar village is located between Sapal Bandia and Kokrai villages and on relatively planed land. There are approximately 1200 households with 10,000 populations residing in the area. Agriculture, Government Jobs, Overseas jobs, Daily wages, Livestock rearing and milking are the major livelihood sources of the households. Pashtu is the main common language and medium of communication for all the population.
